Change

Change is a visual testimony-created in the wake of survival, as I began the slow process of rebuilding my life after years of estrangement and abuse. Drawn in charcoal during a season of deep reckoning and healing, this series reflects the raw, tangled journey back to faith, self-worth, and truth.

Though I had grown up in the church, trauma and hypocrisy had driven me away. Returning to God wasn't a single moment-it was a wrestle. A reckoning. A surrender. These figures emerged in that in-between; pressed low, reaching, straining toward the light. The postures are contorted, aching, exhausted-but never fully collapsed.

Throughout the series, symbolic elements of faith surface-water, stone, shadow, light. Each drawing is its own psalm, a a whispered prayer a desperate cry. Change is not polished or resolved-it's mid-transformation, mid -testimony. It holds the sacred weight of what it took to come back to life.
